So some exciting news. Apologia Church is blessed with amazing, creative and tech savvy members who are going to restructure our entire Apologia All Access website! It will transition slowly over the next few months but eventually will become ApologiaStudios.com
The new website will be less of a blog, and more of a video content website much like Netflix. As you guys know Apologia TV, After Show and Academy are just the three flagship shows of “the Studio” and more television series, documentary films and a whole bunch of other stuff will be coming as we grow. So we need a more media driven website. Good for streaming media on all platforms.
When I started building Apologia Studios we needed a website that just worked and allowed us to take memberships and provide content to those members. Someone reached out and made this site in about two weeks. We always knew it was temporary but we had no idea we would get so many members as fast as we did and we outgrew it far more quickly then we would have liked.
I will list some features of the new website we hope to have soon but I would like for your input as well. So feel free to comment and let me know what you might like to see.
Potential New Features:
Cleaner, easier to navigate website with ability to search archives and categorize episodes and series.
Members can login to custom iphone/android app.
Members can login to custom RoKu App.
Notify members of new content automatically.
Better payment and billing management.
Allow users to refer members and buy gift subscriptions.
That’s just a small sampling. What else would you guys like to see?

A chat room feature would be great!

A agree with that a chat room would be great
March 12, 2016 at 3:24 pm #12741
Sounds good, I liked how The Reformed Pubcast had their site layed out. Very easy and quick to get what you want. I agree, a all access chat room for members only would be a great idea.

Play Apologia episodes on Roku, that would be Awesome. I have Roku on my TV and it would make it so much easier then playing it through my tablet.
March 17, 2016 at 1:06 pm #12757
Can we get to it through Apple TV?
March 18, 2016 at 5:01 pm #12762
Love the roku app! And the app for devices, cang wait!
March 18, 2016 at 11:01 pm #12763
Sorry I thought of one (may not be terribly realistic but thought i would throw it out there), an “app” or “skill” for Amazon Echo! Our family uses that to listen to podcasts, and books etc. So that would handy! Perhaps your podcast could be included in what they already have available too. Thanks! 🙂

Maybe a joke forum? You know your wife is nore reformed than you are when she had a better beard than you.
March 20, 2016 at 10:58 pm #12771
<p style=”text-align: left;”> How bout an easier way to do the avatars, like a quick upload instead of going to Gravatar.com,,,, Chat room would be a great idea.</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Also how bout a 24/7 Cam inside the Studio Room, I’ve seen Radio shows use it, they usually just have it on silent mode, Cam is usually place up on the corner ceiling with Wide Angle Lens it gives the viewer a behind the scenes look, pretty interesting.</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Maybe a Top List of Apologia fan fav videos, like IMDb has on all the film’s, usually it’s between Shawshank & The Godfather for the top spot on IMDb.</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Another idea can be The Pastors Journal, Testimonies from Members, or Church Members,….</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Keep up the great work</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>God bless</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”>AEL</p>
<p style=”text-align: left;”></p>

I’d like to see Apple TV, and perhaps live stream chat room so we can write in live with questions while you guys have guests on the air.

I had a suggestion(s) but it requires some explanation first. When I first discovered this ministry early last spring, I was utilizing YouTube. I heard about the church app when I looked up the church website to find out where you were located. I listened to many of the sermons/videos available from the church website. I then went on to become a member early fall of last year. I have the podcast on my itunes and on my iphone. I say all of this for a reason. A fully functional website like you stated will require links to all past media. If there is the ability, could you link the old videos/audio from your church website along with the YouTube content as an option for non-members? Then you have the All Access area for membership content segregated so to speak. This could also be applied in a forum capacity, where non-members could create a user name with the ability to post and ask questions, while a membership area could be available for the membership itself. It’s just an idea I had to have an actual engagement with the online community that is not necessarily under the YouTube videos. I understand this could create some more work with an admin presence within the non-membership forums, but it does present the ability for “outsiders” to be able to reach into “our” community. In the same fashion as Reddit, there are volunteers that help moderate on certain days/nights of the week usually with a presence of multiple, say two or three. This could help alleviate any unwanted spam postings that would be a nuisance and unedifying. I would also suggest a button for “report to moderator” for any members that would come across questionable postings. 🙂 I’m really not trying to create more work for the team here, I am just keeping in mind, this website will be for multiple platforms, and with the big event coming up I see the need to become current with a higher traffic level to the website. We must think big and plan for the future.
Another idea, is to have links that YOU yourselves sponsor, i.e. Dr. White’s website, Olive Tree app, etc. Any additional content out there on dem interwebs that you feel is appropriate and scriptural could be placed within it’s own “section”. But please be tasteful and not spam adds all over the page i.e. popups are annoying.
A couple of small sections on the side to include, famous quotes from Pastor Durbin and/or encouraging words/messages, call it “Words of Wisdom” or something like that. Another section of additional content could be a random verse of the day available on the home page for non-believers to read(it just might speak into the heart of someone that needed it the most). God’s Word is power, and having a website (which is the Lord’s) on the internet (which is the Lord’s) and not having a verse just seems…(fill in the blank).
I know a download option would have been nice a time or two to share with people when all I had was my iphone available. Not all content, but perhaps some episode that “stands out” from the crowd. If not that, then perhaps a “guest link” that a member could generate, therefor, be able to send the link to another individual whom could use said link to watch the episode by either “x” number of times or perhaps a time limit such as 48 hours from the time the link is originally utilized.
Perhaps you all have already thought of this so as they say, great minds think alike. I want to take the time to give a special thanks for your ministry, your time and your love for God. I have been strengthened by your ministry and have learned many a great things. I have also learned how much more I need to keep learning, seek God and I have found additional people and content out there from your promotions through the podcasts and guests that are edifying to Him. Thank you so much.
Thank you for keeping the Kingdom First!

<p style=”text-align: center;”>Don’t get rid of audio! That’s really the only way I access Apologia Ministries!</p>
April 21, 2016 at 6:54 pm #12863
One of my favorite features would be taking the latest video and have it on a loop in a window on the home page, which might only work if you have daily video content. Infowars does it (which have millions of visitors) and I heard Matt Drudge saying that feature was revolutionary for online media.
April 22, 2016 at 6:20 pm #12864
One feature I would like is the ability to be more social by having member profiles viewable and searchable by other members. These profiles can include basic info such as name and location, but also name of our home church and links to our other social media profile pages(twitter, facebook, etc). Also the ability to privately message other members.

It is difficult to find past specific episodes by series or topic. Ex. I wanted to find the past Apologia Academy videos on Apologetics, but there is no way to find just apologia academy and I don’t know what month of what year they were posted so the archive is useless to me! Please help!
May 7, 2016 at 2:08 am #12924
search bar should be located at the top right so you don’t have to scroll around looking for it.
May 14, 2016 at 4:47 pm #12954
I think you have a problem with the rss feeds. (at least there is with mine) it is playing sounds of someone sleeping as best I can tell. I also posted this in a stand alone post for visibility.
As a suggestion, you should have a “contact us” link that allows us to send you an email.
May 16, 2016 at 2:33 am #12956
Easier way to submit feedback or “contact us” button. Do you know if Reform Con will be streamed for out of state folks?
May 16, 2016 at 5:36 pm #12957
I definitely would enjoy an app from android, since I am usually glued to my phone, it would be even better to have an app that I could watch the content with.
May 27, 2016 at 3:45 pm #13004
How about a all access members Facebook page?
May 28, 2016 at 6:10 pm #13009
Hey I look forward to the new website! Has anyone thought about having the academy content to come across like Udemy or other online learning classes? They have visual cues for the videos/lectures that you have seen and connect them to the next video in line. It also has Q&A connected to each video which feeds into the discussion area.
Along with speed selection and downloading, I really enjoy the Udemy experience and thought it would be such a gift to be able to connect that with Apologia
June 19, 2016 at 10:44 pm #13060
Hi, and thanks for asking for the feedback! I agree with the Roku option. That would be great to watch Apologia from Roku. Also, I have my laptop in my studio and often listen to apologia while working on projects. Would be great if once an episode finishes it goes to the next episode, like it does on youtube. That way I don’t have to stop what I am working on and continue to hear awesome stuff! I agree with the comment above, the video is not as important to me as having audio available, but if playing video from my laptop, nice to have an automatic transition to the next video.
Thanks all and keep up the awesome work!!!
June 19, 2016 at 11:13 pm #13061
Oh hey, one other thing, Marcus, if it is at all possible, I would really appreciate if in the new website we can create profiles that are not tied to our names. I could find no way to change the way my name appears on the forums from my actual name. Thank you. God Bless you all 🙂

I would suggest an app for video game consoles too. I have a PS3 and I think it’s great to be able to access Netflix and YouTube on both my phone and my PS3 and be able to cast the stream from my phone to my TV. The ability to do so from android/ios to the Roku App would be amazing! I understand if building an app for a game console may not be feasible, but if it can be done, that would be cool.
I’m a software developer by trade, so I understand the difficulty of being able to develop a similar app experience across multiple platforms.
July 18, 2016 at 9:43 pm #13178
Like the concept of a page of relevant endorsed links. Also, would love to have a list of readings and websites mentioned in each podcast and tv episode. Often I find myself searching recent casts to find a book either you at Apologia or a guest has recommended. Thank you for your ministry!
August 7, 2016 at 5:38 am #13262
Awesome feature list! I am VERY excited! I apologize for being a bit late to the party on this one, but the only extremely useful feature I can think of is to enable downloading/caching all the content to play later offline within the mobile app.
August 11, 2016 at 2:56 pm #13277
How about making the content available to be downloaded as either an MP3 or MP4. I have limited access to dem innanets, so when I get on, I’d like to be able to download the videos to my hard drive for later viewing. Thanks! Looking forward to changing everything!!
September 4, 2016 at 9:06 pm #13318
How about a book reco/review section? Not sure if this was mentioned already.
October 7, 2016 at 3:50 pm #13420
I like the changes and the direction you guys are headed ESPECIALLY the Roku app idea. We don’t have cable except for internet and use the Roku to stream everything.
Keep up the good work guys.
Oh, and I looked for a way to update my avatar but couldn’t find it.
Could you maybe make that a little accessible?
October 18, 2016 at 12:29 am #13449
I would love to see Pastor Jeff Durbin’s sermons on here. I have the app and there is some great ones on there but, it hasn’t been updated in awhile and I love downloading them at home and listening to them at work so I won’t waste my data. I love watching them on YouTube but, I would love it more if I could listen to them not on YouTube. Keep up the good work guys. GLORY!

An App for Samsung and Smart TV’s.
A book and Resources list that the apologia team have found helpful.
eg. Top Five books for each member
November 1, 2016 at 9:43 pm #13548
Perhaps you could work in some of the private-grouping/scheduling features of facebook, so that we don’t have to have facebook in order to know what’s going on at Apologia. We can all just check the apologia page. After all, sifting through random FB statuses to find announcements is a hassle.

You definitely need a comprehensive resource list. I agree with these suggestions made before: Compatibility with Apple TV or other sling-type applications; mobile functionality; search function at top (eliminate having to search for the Search.)
No music during discussions – it’s often too loud and regularly distracting. I realize this doesn’t have to do with the new web site but still, in my opinion, a useful suggestion.
Love work you do! Thank you.

God has so used Apologia Radio to expand my heart to be concerned for His glory and for the hearts and lives of others, particularly Mormons and those considering abortion. I think it would be great to have a “Resources” section on the new website with links or PDFs to specific resources that will aid us in our interaction with these two groups.
I remember listening to an episode of Apologia Radio where Jeff kept mentioning that we can find all these Mormon beliefs online and how he just pulls up these sources on his phone instead of lugging information in a backpack. Would it be possible on the new site to have these type of resources as a means to help equip people to evangelize?
December 31, 2016 at 5:33 am #13709
I love apolgia radio its amazing, will always be a member now! I will ask if your website can be more organized, instead of having to search for everything. It should be in categories thats my opinion

Where is the new website already! 🙂 We have been patiently waiting!
